Hi, lovelies! Today’s topic is on how to make natural 4c hair curly and soft!
You might be thinking but natural hair is already curly so what exactly am I talking about?
I am talking about, WAVY, BOUNCY CURLS!
I know you are probably thinking, ‘but natural type 4 hair cannot be wavy or bouncy’, but that is an incorrect assumption.
When we talk about 4c natural hair, wavy curls and bounce are never associated with it.
But what if I told you you can achieve it?
Gone are the days when natural hair was seen as hard, tough, unmanageable and unattractive.
Our hair is glorious and can do so much without chemical relaxers.
You do not need a texturizer to get wavy, bouncy curls.
You don’t need any keratin treatment to get the ‘weave look’.🙄
Your natural type 4c hair texture can do it too and is completely beautiful as it is.
Our hair can be styled in limitless ways if only you use the right techniques supported with the right natural products.

How To Make Natural Hair Soft, Curly and Bouncy
- Start with Clean Hair
It is important to begin this hairstyle with freshly washed hair.
- Section Hair
Part your hair into 10-20 twists that you can easily take down while styling.
- Apply Leave-in Conditioner
Undo a section of your hair and apply a leave-in conditioner. It is important that the leave-in conditioner you use is lightweight and absorbs quickly into your hair.
- Apply Heat Protectant
This step is crucial because we are going to apply heat to our hair using a blow dryer, so you need to make sure that your natural hair is heat protected.
- Detangle
Comb through the section of your hair you parted to begin styling. It is very important to remove any shed or tangled hair before blow-drying.
- Use a Blow dryer
I recommend using a blow dryer on medium heat to prevent your natural hair from damage.
- Bantu Knots
When hair is completely blow-dried, place your hair in 6-8 loose Bantu knots.
- Allow Wavy Curls to Set
After 30 minutes (if you are in a rush) or overnight. In this period, the wavy curls will take pattern.
- Apply Oil
After the scheduled time, apply a little oil on your fingers to reduce frizz while you take down the Bantu knots.
- Unravel and Fluff!
Once you are done unraveling the Bantu knots, make sure to close up your parts and fluff your curly and soft hair! Then go out and take lots of pictures, accept compliments and simply rock your hair with confidence!
