Merry Christmas in advance loves!
I have been up and about travelling here and there and I know some of you are as well. Whether you are heading to your hometowns, villages or your favorite getaway spot, the following tips on travelling with natural hair should help your hair stay healthy all holiday long.
- Satin/Silk scarf- Whether you are travelling by road, air or maybe sea, this will be your natural hairs’ best friend. I traveled to my village a week ago to see my grandma and because I packed in a rush, I forgot my hair spritz. It was my satin scarf that prevented my hair from drying out, breaking and getting dirty from all the dust and sand.
- Hair spritz- As I have already mentioned I forgot my hair spritz when I traveled and although I kept my hair covered most of the time, it may not be as convenient for you. So if you are to carry just one product, make sure it is a liquid moisturizer (hair spritz). The combination of both water, oils and emollients in one product will keep your hair moisturized without any fuss.
- If you are travelling to a luxury destination and you will be swimming, protect you hair from chlorinated water by spritzing your hair thoroughly and sealing with a heavy oil. The purpose of this is to reduce how much chlorinated water gets absorbed into your hair. Otherwise, wear a swimming cap.
- If you have no time to style your natural hair often while you are on holiday, you can try styling your hair in twists or a bun beforehand. These styles usually last for a week plus depending on how well you maintain it.
