Natural Hair 101- I Have Decided To Return Natural, What Next?
The first thing you need to know about natural hair is that you are learning something completely new about yourself so you have to prepare to grow with your hair not have hair loss and other hair problems.
The next thing is, finding a regimen that works with your lifestyle. Personally, I have a 7 step regimen. Pre-poo, detangle, shampoo, deep condition, ACV rinse, leave-in conditioner and hair butter/oil. This regimen is suitable for me and my current lifestyle at the moment so I stick with it. You can use my regimen as a starting point and then when you begin to know more about your hair, you can switch it or adjust it to a way that is convenient for you.
After choosing a regimen, you need to think about products. Generally, the kind of products you need for natural hair, are those that can moisturise, soften and ease detangling before anything else.
At this stage, you can be confused by the enormous amount of products advertised online and in stores. So what I usually advice, is that you look for a natural that has a similar or the same exact texture as yours and find out what products they use. If you have to send an email or a direct message, do that. You can always contact me via email and I’ll do my best to reply as quickly as possible.
To be honest, the rest is trial and error. When you try products and you get the basics (softens, moisturizes and detangles), then you can begin to look for curl definers, edge tamers, etc.
Read books on natural hair science, if you’re not the reading type, watch YouTube videos and read blogs on natural hair care, but remember, DO NOT believe everything you read or hear. Natural hair is unique and each healthy hair journey can be different so don’t give into the latest hair growth supplement or buy products under the notion that it would make your hair grow faster. All that is marketing.
Experiment but with caution.

Hi, Ejiro!
Sorry about that. I can do styles to cover foreheads with my natural hair but you have to give me 2 weeks because I only have specific time to record videos. I hope that’s okay.
