Sometimes I get too busy or lazy to do anything with my hair so I just put them in 8-10 twists and head to work or anywhere. I’m sure I am not the only one that wears her chunky twists out and I am almost certain that some of you may have considered doing it but haven’t done so due to the way it may look. Well, hopefully, I can help you with that today.
Here are 3 ways, I have styled my chunky twists.
- Faux wrapped flat twists– in this picture I have my natural hair in about 10 chunky twists and all I did was arrange and Bobby pin them in the same direction and secure with a non-metal hair clip.
- BUN IT– As long as your twists look neat, buns are always an option. Plus you can sleek your edges down if you want to. I mostly settle with brushing my edges.
- Laid back Twists– this is currently how I’ve been wearing my hair to work. The mini twists on the side give an easy-going girly touch while the 7 chunky twists are nicely tucked in with an elastic band.
Tips–
- Bobby pins are your best friends when it comes to styling. You can never use too much. Use them to secure your twists in the direction that suits you.
- If you twist in the same direction, it creates uniformity and allows the twists to stand out more.
- You can tuck, roll, band or pin your twists. Your options are limitless.
- If the way your hair looks is important for your job, neatness is key.
- Use the right twisting product to get good results.

I usually do my hair in big twists but I always feel it’s not near enough to wear out. But I’ll probably try again.
Great! Somedays I don’t have time for expressive styles and I just want to leave my hair alone so chunky twists are always a go for me.
