Hi lovelies! It has been a while since I did a length check. The last post I made on it was in 2015, you can view it here and you can watch the last video I made from 2016 here.
My natural hair has truly come a long way from what it used to be. You can see for yourself in the video below.
Watching it again makes me realise why I started this blog and my YouTube Channel. We have definitely come a long way since then.
The truth is I cut about 2-4 inches off my hair from 2016 till now. I have actually still been cutting more depending on how the ends (tips) of my hair looks.
At some point, my ends got really dry and I was battling with a lot of split ends. I suspect it was due to poor nutrition, using poor hair pins and constantly having my hand in my hair.
Anyway, I sorted it out using the tips I mentioned in this post. Split ends and single strand knots can be very annoying.
Length Check 2019
I also feel I do not need to do length checks anymore because my natural hair has attained the length I always wanted it to be. Any longer will be a nice addition but I would rather not fuss over length and focus on the health right now, especially with postpartum shedding.
So in the spur of the moment, I did a length check before my BBC interview. (You can watch it below).
When you watch the video you will see that my natural hair is back to tail bone length. It does look significantly longer but I am not so sure about the volume. Maybe I will do a volume check sometime this year. I just need my postpartum shedding to stop.
When last did you do a length check? Is it important to you in monitoring the progress of your hair?
