Sometimes I get impatient and I know it’s not a healthy habit but I do. Impatience is much worse when you have to detangle or style your natural hair because you end up with more breakage than usual.
The story behind this post was that I had researched on flexi rods and I decided to give it a try. On the day I chose to do it however, I got impatient whilst rolling up the flexi rods to my scalp so after I did a few I decided to play around with the rest of my hair. “Why not try those foam rollers you bought last year?” I thought to myself. So I threw in different sizes of foam rollers.
“Why not also do a twist and curl? Ouuu…add some Bantu knots here and don’t forget to add a flat twist in front and curl it up with a flexi rod.” As the thoughts kept coming, my hands kept moving and I ended up with different sized curls that seemed to blend perfectly well together. Indeed, I was pleasantly surprised and very happy with the results.
Note- all I used on my hair to set it was a Giovanni Direct Leave-in and Coconut oil. ( I used a lot of coconut oil which ended up oiling both my neck and glasses so I’ll advise you a little goes a long way on this one).
This is what the twists looked like as I took them down.
The Final look in the morning.
My hair got bigger and fluffier (if thats a word) as the day wore on. Nigeria is very humid so I lost most of my curl definition before 2pm!
In the end, I ended up with very frizzy hair but I didn’t mind. I put my hair in an updo that night and left it for a week.
