Happy New Year beautiful people!
I hope you all are healthy and looking forward to a better journey this 2015. I pray that God shall grant you all the grace you need to make tremendous progress this year in Jesus name. (Amen)
Now on to the topic.
I had my first wash day on the 2nd and I did it a little differently.
Unknown to you all, I had an awful washday experience in December which was majorly my fault. For some reason I ran out of products with slip so I got so frustrated when detangling that I ended up dry detangling. I should have done that from the start as my hair was soft and stretched enough. So this time, I made a mental check of all the tools and products I needed to use before wash day. Doing this kept me organized and gave me time to think about other ingredients I could use other than going out to replace finished products. In the end, I came up with this:
- DETANGLE and SHAMPOO with fresh aloe vera (details can be found on How to use fresh aloe vera for natural hair )
- DEEP CONDITION with Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment and;
- MOISTURISE and STYLE with Kinky Curly Curling Custard
It was my first time using both Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment and Kinky Curly Curling Custard (KCCC) so I used them independently. That is, no leave in conditioner after rinsing out the hair mask and no oil or extra styling product with the KCCC. (Another post will be dedicated to reviewing both products).
Detangling was a breeze using fresh aloe vera gel. I even used a comb! I haven’t done that in two years.
The Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment only says to leave in for 1-2mins but I left it in for longer which I think was a bad idea as my hair completely absorbed it.
The KCCC on the other hand surprised me. I loved the result.
I feel happy with my WashDay results. How did your first WashDay go? Have you tweaked a few things in your regimen? Lets discuss in the comments.

Your comment brought a smile to my face. Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it. 🙂
I’m wondering how often I should do the deep conditioning? Every wash day? And with my wash days how often would that be? Thank you for responding 🙂
Hi! It’s preferable if you deep condition after every wash, as it’s the most important part of wash-day. Otherwise, if it is not convenient for you to do so, adjust your wash days according to your lifestyle. For example, I use to wash my hair weekly a year ago, but now I stretch my wash days to every fortnight or even once a month. It all depends on how busy I get.
