Hi people!
If you’ve seen any of my posts on Instagram you would know I left Nigeria for a short break. Everyone of us needs that R&R at least once a year.
Anyway, yesterday I went to find new products and restock old ones for my hair and I got these.
Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier, Dr Miracles Curl Care Leave in conditioner and Jamaican Black Castor Oil are my staples so I got some more to restock. However, Kinky Curly Original Curling Custard, Cantu Shea Butter Moisturising Curl Activator Cream, Aunt Jackie’s Knot on my watch and Curly kids Mixed Haircare are all new products for me.
I found the Kinky Curly curling custard a bit expensive at £18 especially since there are mixed reviews about it. I have bought more expensive products before as can be seen under my hair spa date post but I am just still unsure about this one. Has anyone of my lovely readers used this product before? Should I keep it or return it?
Same goes for Aunt Jackie’s knot on my watch. I just got it because I wanted to try a different brand. I always go for a leave in product first when I want to experiment with a brand I haven’t used before. What are your thoughts on it?
Cantu shea butter products on the other hand, are very popular within the natural hair community so I may be going out to get their leave in conditioner today to add to the curl activator cream I got. I can’t wait to try it.
As for Curly kids Mixed Haircare conditioner, you maybe thinking why I got a product made for kids but that’s just a risk you have to take when trying out new products. You never know the gems that you may find be it in the kids or men’s section.
Please let me know your thoughts on the products above and any new recommendations that I can try.
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week.
Stay blessed.

Hey,
I think the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard is too expensive at £18. I believe I’ve seen it cheaper in Nigeria, you could check Olori.com.ng to confirm.
The Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream is a staple for me. The Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Creamy Hair Lotion is nice too but it stopped working for me after a while.
I’m also interested in the Aunt Jackie’s Curls & Coils line. I recently got the Curl La La defining pudding. Looking forward to your review of the detangler. 🙂
Thanks dearie. I ended up not returning the KCCC (the name is so long) after comparing prices online at the current exchange rate and adding delivery prices. They all come up at roughly £17-£18. I think this product is just generally expensive.
