I have used this hair moisturiser for more than two years now so I have gotten the opportunity to see how it relates to my hair in different weather conditions. R & B by Lush has a unique scent that is quite pungent so, you can literally smell your hair and smell ‘of ‘ your hair which might be a turn off for some.
I, for one am not particularly a big fan of scented products but I can tolerate and appreciate a well blended natural smell. This product usually comes in two sizes at most Lush stores. 100 grams at £11.25 and 225 grams at £19.95. Sometimes, I feel I want a size in between because I want more than 100 grams but at a price less than £19.95. It just feels like two extremes.
In summer, R & B softens, moisturises and gives me some curl definition after styling. It makes my braidouts feel and look fantastic. As can be seen below.
On the other hand in winter, R & B softens and moisturises my hair but it does nothing to define my curls and my hair constantly feels damp. I realised that the reason might be because glycerine is the second most used ingredient after Oat Milk in the product.
Glycerine is a humectant. This means it helps attract moisture (water) from the environment to the hair. So what happens when there is a lot of moisture in the air like during Winter? It results in my natural hair taking in too much moisture, losing any curl definition and shrinking whenever I decide to wear my hair out.
