Hi lovelies! I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the week as I am. (Thank God for HIS mercies).
Last week Thursday, I loosened my hair from a bun I had been wearing for the whole week in order to wash my hair. Throughout that week, I had been moisturizing my hair with Aweni Organics moisturizing hair pudding.
I had no clue what products I would be using when I started, but I eventually settled on;
- Beautifully Crafted Hot Oil Treatment with Hemp Seed Oil
- Midas Naturals Brazen Curls Detangling Co-Wash and;
- ManeChoice Crystal Orchid Biotin Infused Styling Gel
I applied Beautifully Crafted Hot Oil Treatment with Hemp Seed Oil from my roots to tips on dry hair, I sprayed some water and then covered my hair with a shower cap. I didn’t have time to rinse it out that night so I wrapped my hair to work the next day.
Once I was ready on Friday evening, I decided I wasn’t going to use shampoo and proceeded to apply Brazen curls Detangling Co-wash to my scalp, root and the ends of my hair. Then I detangled and twisted my hair into 10-12 sections and covered it again with a plastic bag. ( I couldn’t find my shower cap). Once I was done, I went to bed. 😀
So I dragged my wash-day to Saturday evening after work and this time I simply rinsed out the conditioner and pre-poo treatment with cold water after steaming for about 10 minutes.
To STYLE, I squeezed out the excess water with a t-shirt and applied the ManeChoice Crystal Orchid Biotin Infused Styling Gel to each of my sectioned twists then pin curled it. I did not know what to expect because, I have actually never tried pin curls or pin curling with a gel so I was wondering what my results would be like.
As you can see from the pictures above, I took down my gelled up pin curls before they dried and I was left with slightly elongated defined curls which gave me a Wash & Go look.
Full Video of how I achieved this Wash & Go can now be viewed on YouTube.
Did you notice? 3 out of the 4 products I used are Nigerian Brands! Aweni Organics, Beautifully Crafted & Midas Naturals.
What was your last wash day like? You can find some of my previous posts on Wash Days here and here.
I just think this meme is hilarious by the way!

Thank you lovely! 🙂
I have a question. I am recovering (well at least trying to) from severe heat damage. (Went to a Dominican spot my sister recommended….never again). My hair was already fine…but now looking at a fro before and after (sort of puff..not much of a fro for after) and I have lost a lot of hair and it is super thin now. Any suggestions to help this?
Hi Bre! Sorry for my late reply. That experience must have been horrible. Did you cut your hair to start over or did you cut off only your heat damage? What about your new growth? Is it as thin?

Hi Chinwe, lovely tips on haircare. Would love to see you use products of Kakiva Essentials. Remember kakiva at the 2016 African hair summit?
Hi Alaba!!
I’ve been looking for a way to reach out to you since then. Let me reply your message on Facebook. 🙂
