How To Prepare a Hot Oil Treatment for Natural Hair
Pour 1/3 of a cup of neem oil, palm kernel oil and coconut oil into a 200ml container.
Then add a tea spoon of the Jamaican Black Castor Oil.
Once all have been mixed in you should have a light golden oil.
Take a stainless steel bowl or plastic bowl and fill it up with water that is below boiling point.
Hot enough to warm up the oil but cool enough to not burn your fingers and your plastic bottle.
Place your bottle in it and allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
When you take your bottle out, you should see a cloud of steam around it and the oil should feel warm to touch.
This process is necessary if you want the oil to absorb quicker into your hair shaft. That is why it is called the Hot Oil Treatment.
How To Use a Hot Oil Treatment on Natural Hair
Section your natural hair into medium-sized sections and proceed to pour a dime-sized amount of the oil mix into your palms and massage it unto the length of your hair using the praying hand’s method.
Once you finish a section, twist it out of the way and proceed to repeat the same steps for the others.
Once you are certain your whole hair is coated, proceed to cover your natural hair with a shower cap or plastic bag and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
You can either wear your natural hair out in a style afterwards or proceed to wash your hair.
