I found this hairstyle inspiration from the work hair section of Marie Claire Magazine, so I thought to myself, ‘hmm…this is cute, why not give it a try’ and I got this! **Please note that these pictures were taken at different times in one day, hence the different lighting. I hope you can see the hairstyle clearly though. Side view a few minutes after I was done. When I was compiling these pictures I realised I didn’t have a proper front view of the hairstyle so you’re stuck with me cheesing away. The back view. I added a silver studded hair piece just to glam it up. I also added a pretty hair-band. Comparing both results.
How To:
- Part your hair in four sections. One big chunk in the middle, two small ones on each side and a little behind. (Note: Sections do not have to be perfect. I used my fingers to part my hair and it came out alright).
- Use your left hand to slick the middle chunk of hair down,
- then use your right hand to stretch the small section of your hair across the middle and secure with a Bobby pin.
- Repeat the same process with the hair on the left side.
- When your done securing both parts across the middle with Bobby pins, roll and tuck in the ends of your hair to your scalp and secure with more Bobby pins.
- Thats it.
Don’t worry if all this sounds confusing, I’ll try to make a video for it or find someone on YouTube with something similar to give you a visual explanation. Till then, the materials and products used were:
- Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier
- Anita Grant Lemon Sponge
- Jamaican Black Castor Oil
- Eco-Styler Gel (to lay those edges down!)
- Bristle brush
- Toothbrush (exclusively for my hair)
- Bobby pins
- Hair accessories (optional)
I personally love this hairstyle and I hope you all love it as much as I do too.
Peace & Blessings,
Chinwe Juliet
