2. Does Natural Hair Shed A Lot?
It depends on four things.
- the density of your hair,
- How you manipulate your hair when styling and combing,
- The length of time you go between detangling and
- Hormonal changes
You can find tips to reduce shedding and grow your natural hair below.
3. Does Natural Hair Grow Faster When it is Dirty?
There is no scientific evidence I know of that proves this. But I know that the less your hands are in your hair, the less breakage you get.
You can watch this video for more natural hair tips.
4. How To Have Natural Hair Without Cutting
If your natural hair is relaxed or damaged for one reason or the other, and you don’t want to cut it off immediately, I suggest you transition. That is, stop relaxing your hair or purposely damaging your hair and allow your natural hair to grow underneath.
However, you still need to cut off or slowly trim the relaxed and damaged parts of your hair to allow your hair to look healthy all round.
5. How To Do Natural Hair for Beginners
I have written an article on this topic and also made a video here. Natural Hair is a learning process so please be patient and be willing to learn.
6. Do all black people have curly natural hair?
It depends on genetics.
7. How to keep my natural hair curly when it dries?
Use a curl-enhancing deep conditioner and follow with a leave-in conditioner that also helps define your curls. Finally, layer a twist/gel defining cream and mousse (optional) to maintain curl definition.
8. How can straight hair be made curly naturally?
Try using flex rods, braid outs, twist outs and bantu knot out styles.
9. What is it like to have naturally curly hair?
IT IS AMAZING! I can have it straight curly, short, long, EVERYTHING! NATURAL HAIR IS AMAZING!
10. Why is natural hair considered ugly to a lot of people?
People always reject things they are not accustomed to seeing in the media or around them. It does not mean natural hair is ugly. (It never was, natural hair is beautiful). Their perception is mostly out of ignorance and you know what? That does not affect the beauty and radiance of your natural hair.
11. How To Maintain Naturally Curly Hair?
You will need a consistent hair routine like mine here. It consists of pre-poo, shampoo, deep conditioning, apple cider vinegar rinse, leave-in conditioner, cream, and oil.
12. I have a rough and curly hair. How do I soften it?
Layering products is the key to softening natural hair. Always use a leave-in conditioner, cream, and oil. Depending on your hair type, use the oil before the cream.
13. Can I make my curly hair straighten naturally?
If you mean permanently then the only way is through toxic hair relaxers. I don’t advice this. However, if you mean temporarily, then yes. You can easily straighten your natural hair with a blow out or flat iron but make sure you use a heat protectant. Watch the video below for more information.
14. Why has my curly hair turned straight?
Yikes! You may have heat damage.
15. Which is better, curly hair or straight hair?
ALL. Don’t compare. Just love whatever type of hair that grows out of your scalp. You’ll be happier when you embrace your own hair.
16. If you have naturally curly hair, do you brush it?
You can if it is with a ‘detangling’ brush designed for curly hair. Otherwise, you may end up ripping your naturally curly hair out. This is the hairbrush I use.
17. How to bring life back to dry, damaged, curly hair?
To bring back dry hair you have to start off with a consistent and balanced moisture-protein routine. For damaged hair, you may have to cut off all the damaged hair depending on how bad it is.
I had damaged, dry and uneven hair and over the years I have literally transformed the health of my natural curly hair to what it is today. You can watch the full details here.
18. What is your natural hair curl pattern?
I have Type 4 coils, kinky curls.
19. Should you comb naturally curly hair when it is dry?
Please no. Don’t try this ever. You will end up with unnecessary breakage, split ends and a headache from all the pulling from the comb.
20. How to get long curly hair?
Buy, Read and implement my tips and tricks in my book!
21. How to love my curly hair?
It’s hard to love your hair when it is dry, hard and uncooperative. “Like why will my hair not grow after everything I have done?”, I completely understand and believe it or not, I can relate to you 1000%.
It is always hard to love your hair in these times but you know what? Your hair is your crown and it is beautiful even in those difficult times. So rather than stressing about being in place, focus on embracing it as it is.
Along the way, you will fall in love with your hair before you know it.
