Went as follows:
- Pre-poo– I used Extra Virgin Olive Oil (my hair loves this oil) and covered it with a plastic cap and scarf and left it overnight.
- Detangle– I dry finger detangled my hair because it was very soft and felt very moisturised after the pre-poo.
- Deep Conditioner– I used Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment. This was a luxurious treat for my tresses. I left it in for about 30-40 minutes.
- Beer Rinsing– I realised a little too late that I had run out of apple cider vinegar so a completely random idea crossed my mind. I think I had read about the effects of beer rinsing somewhere so I thought, why not? I might as well give it a try. After testing the pH value of course. A separate post will be written on this.
- Leave-in Conditioner– I used Karens Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave in and Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier. The review on this product can be found here.
- Style– I opted for thread. Popularly known as African Threading.
Can’t wait to see results!
How was your last Wash Day? Do share below. 🙂

This is interesting… Beer rinsing…. Does it do the same job as Apple cider vinegar? Looking forward to a post on that x
From what I know so far it did! I’ll let you know more soon. 🙂
Your hair though; hair goals! <3
My last washday(yesterday) consisted of detangling, shampooing, deep conditioning, moisturizing and sealing. Would have made it shorter if I could(Team lazy bones)
Lol! Me too. I’m always looking for shortcuts but I never like the way my hair feels after co-washing so I’m still trying to come up with ways to cut corners. If you find any before I do, please share. And,thanks for the compliment love!
Ever tried a mud wash? That’s apparently a good way to shorten washday as I read that it cleanses and conditions at the same time
I’ve had different experiences with Bentonite clay, Rhassoul clay and Dead Sea Mud and they’ve all be great. (Apparently, they all fall under mud washing). I’ll try to get back on them but the only thing is I’m put off by how much mess they make and they actually don’t save that much time.

Ugh! The mess though! Whatever time you save, you spend it again rinsing out the mud from your hair and scrubbing your bathroom.
One day we will find the best shortcuts; hopefully soon.
Your hair is really something. SO beautiful. The only reason I prefer thread over the black strings is because they tend to slip off my hand when am threading plus *covers face* I odnt know how to secure the ends after threading. Any tips you can share?
Hi dearie! Thank you so much! **blushing**
I made a video as I mentioned in the post but it’s a bit dark. Would have loved to show you so you would understand what I’m about to say. When I get close to my ends, I either keep threading till there’s no more hair left in sight or I fold the little left of my ends and thread it above the part that has been already covered by thread. Next, I loop the thread around my thumb and make a knot to secure. I only need to do this once and it’s stays.
I hope that makes sense.
